Hi! I’m Christina Lane of Dessert For Two and today I’m partnering with Hershey’s to make Hershey’s perfectly chocolate chocolate cake. It’s the recipe right on the back of the box, but we’re gonna scale it down to serve two today. You guys know me, I make mini cakes in these six inch round cake pans. These are actually the top layer of a wedding cake but for Dessert For Two they’re the only cake that we need. So, we’re using this six inch cake pan today. What we’re gonna do first, we’re gonna preheat our oven to 350 I already have that going.
Then we’re going to line the bottom of this pan with parchment paper. I do this so the cake doesn’t stick, we don’t want to make a whole cake, spend all the time doing that, and then have the cake stick and not be pretty. So, we say use parchment paper. I just traced the bottom onto my parchment with a pencil, and then, I cut it out and here’s your little six inch round circle.
So I flip this over, you want the edges with the pencil down, you don’t want that touching your cake batter, and see it fits nicely in the pan. And then let’s make our cake batter. We’re gonna start with dry ingredients. So for that, I need 1/2 a cup of flour and then it’s time for the good stuff. We need 5 tablespoons of Hershey’s cocoa. So to our flour and cocoa powder we’re going to add 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda. it’s going to make our cake rise. Now it’s time for our wet ingredients. That is our batter, now it goes into our pan and then this bakes for 30 minutes at 350 degrees I’ll show you what it looks like when it’s done Thank you for watching and I hope you make this mini chocolate cake for two sponsored by Hershey’s .
