Cozy Fall Drinks To Make At Home // DIY Fall Recipes 2019

Hi guys it’s Becca and welcome back to the carriage house or welcome if you are new here and happy fall to all of you I thought it’d be fun for this video to celebrate fall by making some warm and comforting fall inspired drinks together and I have three of them or three recipes to share with you but let’s go ahead and start with the first drink I call it a spiced white pumpkin it’s basically a creamy white hot chocolate with a little bit of pumpkin spice blended in and it is so delicious it’s really rich but it’s so easy guys you’re gonna want to make homemade hot chocolate all the time after you make this alright well let’s go ahead and get started on the spiced white pumpkin so first you’re gonna pour four cups of milk in a saucepan and this serves about four people I’m using vanilla soy milk but you can use any kind of milk that you like and then one cup of good-quality white chocolate I’m using the Ghirardelli white chocolate since there’s a few ingredients in here it’s really important to use good quality ingredients and next you’re going to add your white chocolate to your milk and then you’re gonna stir these ingredients in a saucepan over low heat until the white chocolate is melted and it comes to just barely a simmer you don’t want it to boil and now you’re ready to add a little bit of pumpkin pie spice now I’m using the skinny syrup pumpkin praline pie that I got at HomeGoods I think but you can use any kind of similar syrup you can just use a little bit even even just like brown sugar or a little bit of pumpkin pie spice maybe that would be kind of good so you can just kind of get creative but I really like the syrups though and then you’re gonna remove it from the heat and serve it right away okay so now is the fun part you can add whipped cream to your hot white chocolate I’m using store-bought but you can make your own homemade whipped cream which is absolutely delicious you can also add a few little mini white pumpkins on top and just little mini marshmallows it was so funny you guys my kids and I were laughing if you can see me mountain belly laughs but it was starting to overflows so we kind of had we kind of had fun with it and I am actually sprinkling a little bit of fresh nutmeg on top which adds that nice little extra layer of a fall that you gotta definitely give this one a try you guys and next we’re gonna make a delicious spiced pear and apple cider that will be slowly simmering away in a crock pot all day this is gonna make your kitchen smell heavenly and it’s so simple and so comforting especially on the chilly fall afternoon so for this recipe you’re going to need about four to five medium-sized apples I have Gala apples here but you can use pretty much any variety of apples and you’ll need about three to four pairs as well I have only had three pears so but you’re gonna core and quarter them all and place them into your slow cooker and next you’re gonna add four sticks of cinnamon then you’re going to add about one teaspoon of whole clothes and next you’re gonna fill the rest of your slow-cooker with water just right up to the brim and you are going to simmer it on low for about eight hours you can probably do it on high for about four but there’s just something about that slow cooking process for a long period of time that just makes everything better but then you’re gonna strain and mash all the fruit next and this is really important don’t try not to skip this step because this gives it a lot more flavor and this is when you can add sweetener if you like now I’m using honey but I guess brown sugar before which is really really good we usually add up to about a cup of sweetener whether it’s a cup of sugar or or the honey but you just you know you experiment you and your family experiment and see that might be a little bit too much or you may even want to have a little bit more I like to leave a little bit of those pear and apple pieces and not only is it easier you don’t have to strain every little single thing of fruit but it also gives us kind of a rustic feel and you could leave it like this or you can add some apple cinnamon chips like I did with some cinnamon and last but not least we are going to make a light and creamy London autumn fog tea latte it’s my own little spin on the old classic so for this you’re going to warm up a cup of tea now this is just meant for one person but you can double the recipe and you’re going to add some Earl Grey tea to a cup of hot water I’m using a tea bag but you can certainly use either loosely in a strainer as well so now you’re going to let your tea steep for about five minutes and while your tea is steeping you’re going to combine one cup of milk in a small saucepan and heat it up or you can if you if you have a Keurig with this little froth or like me you can use that and that’s what I’m using now I’m am using soy milk now this part that I put in with in the actual like in the tea makes in of tea it doesn’t really froth up that well but we love so I love soy milk in my tea I think it just makes it more creamy but you can certainly use regular milk and then you can go ahead and add your pumpkin flavoring I’m using that same syrup that we used for the for the other drink so and then I poured in my soy milk that was heated a little bit a little bit frothy but I did go back and add real milk to my frother and spooned it on top because that just gives it a nice like a real latte feel so but you can do however you like again if you don’t have a frother then you can simply steam it or heat it up on the stove and then kind of whisk it regularly a little bit it’s not this ain’t quite the same but it’ll still it will still be amazing is so good guys okay so I hope you end up making at least Drink Recipes:

Spiced White Pumpkin

4 Cups of Milk ( We used soymilk)
1 Cup of White Chocolate (we used Ghirardelli…you can use chips as well, but they have stabilizers in them which makes them not melt quiet as well in liquid I found).
1 TBSP of Pumpkin flavored syrup or 1 tsp of pumpkin pie spice or just plain cinnamon!
Toppings such as whipped cream, grated nutmeg, and “Mini White Pumpkins” *mini marshmallows 😉

Heat milk & white chocolate in a small saucepan over low heat. Once the chocolate is melted, add about 1 TBSP of pumpkin syrup (or 1 tsp of pumpkin pie spice ) to the mixture and mix again. Add toppings if desired and serve right away!

Note: It’s common to have a yellow ring form after the drink sits for a few minutes..whether it’s in the saucepan or in your cup…this is natural & just from the cocoa butter separating from the white chocolate.

Spiced Apple & Pear Cider

8 apples ( we used Gala ) cored and quartered
4 sticks cinnamon
1 Tsp whole cloves
Enough water to fill to the brim of a slowcooker (ours is 6 quarts)
½- 1 cup of honey, brown sugar, or sweetener of your choice (you can always adjust these measurements to your liking

Place your quartered apples into a slow cooker. Add in cinnamon sticks and whole cloves and pour in your water until it just barely meets the brim of your slowcooker. Cook on low for eight hours.
Strain the solids from the liquids and mash the apples with a spoon or potato masher. (We give the leftover apple & pear pieces to our chickens!) Next add your sweetener. You can either stir and serve right away or let it simmer for another hour to let the sweetener settle in. Serve with apple chips and a cinnamon stick!

London Autumn Fog Tea Latte

1 bag of Earl Grey tea
½- 1 cup milk ( we use a combo of soy milk and cow’s milk
Pumpkin Flavored Syrup
Fresh grated nutmeg

Place one tea bag in a mug of hot water and steep for five minutes. While the tea is steeping, pour the milk in a milk frother. We use an a Keurig froth attachment. Remove tea bag and add 1 TBSP (or more or less) of pumpkin flavored syrup. Then pour or spoon in your frothy milk (watch videos for more options) Serve with grated nutmeg 🙂
