Adorable Halloween Treats

you notice Halloween has become so popular that it’s quickly rivaling the winter holidays for retail spending and celebrations yeah and definitely the trio when it comes to snacks and treats it seems like everything we have to decorate and make spooky and here to show us how you can add a little spirit to your homemade goodies it’s carob we refine from the sweet set hello thank you so much for having us out and put my well Mary Poppins away here Mary I know take Mary Poppins all the time especially if you come with all of this okay tell us an overview of what we’re going to be doing and yeah so today what I want to show you is just basically so it’s Halloween already so let’s just talk about really simple things if you’re going to a party tonight you can do you know in your kitchen right now quick quick quick run to the grocery store maybe okay so I’m what I want to start with are these super cute little mummy Oreos it’s really easy so you just orient yeah okay so it’s a white chocolate covered Oreo and then we just stuck some little candy eyeballs on there yeah and so what we have is I’ve melted down some white chocolate in here and what we’re gonna do is use these little molds I guess these you can get on Amazon or some of the local craft stores also have them jo-ann yeah Michaels are something if you’re last-minute exactly we don’t have that I bet you could probably even sprinkle some of that on there and do the eyes and good idea and you do the chips or the bars so we use chips okay and one thing about melting chocolate especially white chocolate is you want to do it really slowly on like a low-power so you’re just gonna kind of havi do that just go ahead and kind of squish some Oreos in there yeah you don’t want to push them down too far because the the actual cookie will start showing through the white on the other side okay but we’re gonna put that mommy wrapping on there so it’s not it’s not gonna be a big deal if it shows a little bit got it so you’re gonna let that kind of get in there cover it up with some more all right white chocolate and then you’re gonna kind of smooth that out and then pop them in the refrigerator or the freezer for a few minutes and then you’ll be able to pop out a really nice clean little white powder puff basale is like exactly exactly right what’s great is that it doesn’t take ours and I’ll be done this is so simple you can totally do this you can totally do this and then you’re gonna take your white chocolate which I have put into a piping bag if you don’t have piping bags you can just use a good quality ziploc bag type of oh and yeah and just put it in the end use the corner I’m gonna snip off that edge there to give us a good and you’re just going to drizzle over off the walls so good yeah that chocolate you’re just gonna drizzle over it so it’s still we’ve all done this we’ve cut too much off the tip of the bag and then you end up having again you have so you’re gonna drizzle here we go okay we’re gonna drizzle over okay easy easy right and then you’re going to add my balls exactly that one got a little funky because we had a little tough waiting period but but it’s still weird yeah it totally works and it’s still super cute I love it looks like a whole ghost pumpkin sugar cookies yeah because this looks like when you see them done I think there’s no way I could do this but you totally can I see when you do the outline like maybe I could you totally can and so these are super simple we’re just using a really easy royal icing recipe which you can find any royal icing recipe on line will help you out here but and you just and you just draw your outline and then you wiggle it in its super illegal in it just a little to do your outline big sleeves my hair tight for your sleeves you’re doing great yeah and discard touch those edge of lines just barely gently and fill it in perfect I’m doing a terrible job this looks good yeah see you’re so good to support me yeah I’d still lean it it might not look pretty but once you fill it in once you feel it in you just grab a little gray or a brown and you just go in and give that little and then we always love to top it off with a little bit of a litter so never enough glitter that world especially on Halloween right so this is just called disco dust some of the little some of the craft stores will have this or you can get it again Amazon’s pretty much good it’s edible like my mind is blown right now disco dust going to start stocking up that’s right so with that candy corn it’s roughly the same idea we have yellow we have orange so you just kind of fill in you want to take a sure yeah and again it’s swiveling wiggling and but not touching the edges too hard yeah and I always try to hold with two hands it’ll give you a little bit more it’s harder to get it out than you think a MIDI you made it look easy like a three-year-old in it okay just wait go there to those outlines in there then you’re gonna be you’re gonna be just good structure yep okay now getting the hang of it yeah yeah you got this I’m feeling pretty good right now we are going to be the Queen’s of the bake sale tell us about the sweet side where are you looking at what all do you offer so we are in Wallingford we’re right on 45th I’m at Thackeray okay yeah and I know that neighborhood yeah yep and then so we’re right at backery and 45th we offer custom cakes small cakes for small occasions for big occasions and then just a line of really fun little goodies and cheese cakes and cookies and basically if it’s delicious and it’s visually appealing that’s kind of our jam it’s at the same house that’s been around so we’ve been in business for seven years in Wallingford for four okay I am did you have another question I was gonna ask about I want to know yeah a mething retreats yeah can i sample yeah absolutely go for I grab it in there so the rice krispies treats this is totally if you are you know going to a party tonight that you can do this melt down some chocolate make rice krispie treats and then you just dip the top of the rice krispies into a little bowl of chocolate okay kind of bring it up on there with a spoon stick some eyeballs on it and you have really cute little it on top or we can get how do we do you use food coloring to add to the chocolate to make this color or what it would or use an icing what did you do so we used food coloring food gel is the best because it’s thicker it has less water which will react better with the chocolate so if you can get a food gel versus you know a liquid a little bit better these are just little things I’ll help you yeah that’s a good little secret I never knew it’s awesome I guess if we just want to do even just the brown and the chocolate add a little eyes all of a sudden just give it that little extra pop absolutely you know dust more disco that’s you know we like to sometimes we put like a bunch of eyeballs on them you know monsters come in all
